City Government

The Local Government Code section of the Texas Statutes defines 5 types of municipalities: Type A General-Law, Type B General-Law, Type C General-Law, Home-Rule, and Special-Law. Lucas is presently a Home-Rule municipality. The adoption of the Home Rule Charter was passed by a majority vote of the citizens of Lucas on May 10, 2008 Special Election.
