The City of Lucas Municipal Court is responsible for the prosecution and adjudication of City of Lucas Municipal Code violations punishable by fine only. The Municipal Court conducts preliminary and pre-trial hearings and trials, collects fines and court costs, and issues warrants of arrest. The Municipal Court is held on an as-needed basis at City Hall. Dockets are posted on the website 24 hours prior to the court date under Court Dates. The law requires that you make an appearance either in person or by representation by an attorney. Failure to appear may result in a warrant being issued for your arrest or and/or an automatic judgement of guilty.

Class C misdemeanor violations such as traffic or criminal citations of state and federal laws are currently handled by Collin County Offices of Justices of the Peace. Their office can be contacted at 972-548-4125 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Ticket payment information can be located here: https://www.collincountytx.gov/Courts/justices-peace

If you were issued a citation, you have 10 working days from the date the citation was issued to contact the court (either City of Lucas or Collin County) to enter a plea. A court date may automatically be assigned to each case. Payment is expected at time of assessment. We accept cash, money order, check or credit/debit card transactions. There is a 3% convenience fee for all credit/debit card transactions.
