Background Information
The Angel Parkway project is an expansion project of the existing two-lane roadway to a six-lane roadway. Originally planned to be an expansion to a four-lane roadway, the improved six-lane format will provide better transportation across the western edge of the City of Lucas. The roadway borders the major commercial center in Lucas and runs 3.4 miles south on the west side of Lucas, connecting Estates Parkway to Parker Road (FM 2514) and the City of Murphy, where it will be realigned with Hogge Drive / North Murphy Road. TxDOT began this widening project as a result of the commuting traffic demands in the area, including from the City of Allen, City of Parker, and the City of Murphy.
Upon completion, the new roadway will have dedicated turning lanes and allow for better flow of traffic to the roads and shopping centers it connects. Construction for this project is being conducted by Harper Brothers Construction LLC. Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has estimated that the project will be completed in early 2026. More updates will be provided on this page as the project moves forward.
