The City of Lucas is requesting your cooperation in conserving water and limiting consumption for the foreseeable future. On the night of August 25th and the in the early morning hours of August 26th, we experienced a larger than usual draw on our water system. This higher demand left our water levels critically low.
Normally, there is a significant demand for water during the evening and night-time hours. Since we have hours of no watering during the day, the system typically recovers and the cycle starts again. However, because of the large draw, it is taking longer than normal to refill our storage tanks. We are asking for your cooperation to NOT water on Monday the 26th or Tuesday the 27th.
While the new water tower has been erected, it is not complete, filled, or supplying water to our system at this time. It is on schedule to be completed in the months to come and will prove invaluable to our overhead storage needs. However, since it is not filled and fully operational, it does not help our current situation.
We appreciate your attention to this matter and thank you for help.
