Councilmember Neil Peterson
History in Lucas / Background
Councilmember Peterson and his wife Loretta have been married for 40+ years and have been residents of Lucas for more than 9 years. Prior to that they were residents of Plano for almost 30 years. Their family consists of 2 daughters, their husbands, and 7 grandchildren who all live in Collin County.
Career
In 2023 Councilmember Peterson retired from a 40+ year career with Raytheon Technologies and started his own Consulting Business. During this time, he held various positions in engineering, strategy and business development and program management culminating in a position of Vice President with responsibility over a major Strategic Business Unit. His service also included a short assignment in Washington DC where he engaged multiple members of the U.S. Congress and their staff, Pentagon requirements officers, and various Department of Defense research personnel.
Public Service
During his career Councilmember Peterson has served as Advisory Director for the Richardson Chamber of Commerce, Telecom Corridor as well as Chairman of the Membership Committee of the Technology Business Council of North Texas. At a national level, he was a recipient of the United States Navy Reliability, Maintainability, and Quality Assurance Award.
Community Engagement
Councilman Peterson and Loretta co-lead a Home Group at Citizens Church in Plano as well as mentor young couples in a pre-marital counseling ministry.
