Lucas does not have its own police department. Instead, we contract with the Collin County Sheriff's Office for law enforcement services.
Warrants:
Warrants issued by the City of Lucas Municipal Court are sent to the Collin County Sheriff's Office for execution. Should you need to see if Lucas Municipal Court has an outstanding warrant for you, please check the Collin County Sheriff's web page at http://apps.collincountytx.gov/activewarrants.
If you have a outstanding warrant, please contact the City of Lucas Municipal Court at 972-912-1203 as soon as possible to make arrangements to pay your fees.
Burglar, Robbery, Fire, Medical, & Panic Alarms
Properly installed, used, and maintained alarms are a real asset. However, the vast majority of alarm calls are false alarms. This takes deputies away from other services, including service calls dealing with criminal activity. In response to the number of false alarms, and our commitment to positive relationships with all communities, the Collin County Sheriff's Office will continue responding to alarm calls within cities that are without police departments.
Alarm Ordinance
All Residents using alarms in Lucas must comply with the Collin County Alarm Ordinance, including submitting the application form found on Collin County's website. Should you have questions regarding the ordinance, please contact the Collin County Sheriff's Office Crime Prevention Section at 972-547-5167.
