Arbor Day & Recycling Event
The City of Lucas Arbor Day and Recycling Event will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Lucas City Hall, 665 Country Club Road, Lucas, Texas.
Texas Arbor Day is an annual holiday that promotes environmental conservation through tree planting. This event supports the Keep Lucas Beautiful program in its efforts to sustain healthy ecosystems in our community.
The City of Lucas partners with the Legacy 4-H Club to give away free tree saplings and provide electronic recycling to participants. Green Glove Technology Recycling and Shred-It Paper Recycling will set up a drive-through drop-off site for recycling and paper shredding. Disposal fees will be charged for:
- Televisions – $20
- CRT monitors – $10
- Computer Hard Drives – $10
Other items you can drop off include laptops, cell phones, chargers, Christmas lights, and small kitchen appliances (microwaves, toasters, etc.). All other electronics not listed as having a fee are free to drop off. Paper products, such as soft or hard-cover books and magazines are free to drop off as well, however, newspapers will not be accepted for drop off.
