Since its establishment in 2016, the Keep Lucas Beautiful (KLB) program has been a cornerstone of community pride and environmental stewardship in Lucas, Texas. Recognized as a Gold Star Affiliate by Keep Texas Beautiful, the program has made significant strides in transforming our community into a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable place to live.

In 2025, the City of Lucas proudly achieved Gold Star status from Keep Texas Beautiful, a prestigious recognition awarded to affiliates that demonstrate outstanding dedication to maintaining clean, green, and beautiful communities. To earn Gold Star status, affiliates must showcase strong organizational leadership and active community involvement. They also share their mission and goals, report on economic development and diversity initiatives, and participate in statewide recognition programs such as the Beautify Texas Awards and the Governor’s Community Achievement Awards.
